Eating on the campaign trail, whether stopping at a street vendor or taking a slice of pizza offered by a local shop owner – and always smiling for the cameras – was not just about scoring votes. It was about being polite.

While reporting for a food story, I got to shoot anti-Ahmajinedad protests.

Despite the economic downturn, officials of the 55th annual Tucson Gem & Mineral Show at the Tucson Convention Center said attendance was higher than last year.

About an hour south of the border in Imuris, Sonora, the Casa de Elizabeth Orphanage is getting hit hard from both sides.
